You already know a creepy doll movie is going to be good when it’s created by the same person behind The Conjuring and Saw. James Wan came up with the idea for M3gan, which stands for Model 3 Generative Android, to give a new generation their own Chucky doll moment. The movie is about an 8-year-old girl who loses her parents in an accident and goes to live with her aunt, Gemma, a roboticist.

To help her niece feel better and less lonely, she gifts her with a M3gan doll prototype, which can listen and respond in a very lifelike way. M3gan promises to protect the little girl no matter what – a promise that the doll takes too far, leading to a series of crazy happenings throughout the movie.
