Minionese, a.k.a. the “Banana Language,” was made up by Despicable Me co-directors Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud. It mashes together bits of French, Spanish, Italian, English, and a few Indian-language syllables, then wraps it all in gibberish and food words. That’s why you catch the odd familiar word like “gelato” or “banana” in the middle of total nonsense.
There’s no real grammar to memorize. The Minions communicate with tone, volume, and a lot of confidence. Which, honestly, makes it easy to copy.
