If you’re wondering how to sing better there are plenty of tips and tricks out there to help you improve your singing voice. If you are learning how to sing, then doing exercises like maintaining the right posture (tall posture), breathing from the diaphragm, training your ear, and practicing scales are likely to be your daily routine.
But if you’re dabbling in singing and want to spice up your live streams or in-game moments with some karaoke stuff, technology comes to the rescue. This is why we created Voicetune voice effects, so you can easily and instantly tune your voice in real-time. And if you’re asking yourself ‘is using a voice tuner cheating?’, don’t feel bad about it — you’re not cheating. Most pop and trap stars out there are already using autotune anyways. Keep reading below to find out how to sing better, quick and easy.

Here is how to use a voice tuner step by step:
Ok, let’s give you a practical example of how to use Voicemod to sound like major pop and trap artists out there. Say you want to sing along a song in the key of C Major like for example ‘Save Your Tears’ (Ariana Grande, The Weeknd), ‘Peaches’ (Justin Bieber feat. Daniel Caesar and Gideon), ‘Essence’ (WizKid) or ‘Happier Than Ever’ (Billie Eilish).
💡 Tip – For that typical autotune-like effect, leave the ‘Mix’ control to the max.
💡 Tip – Using too much reverb will make it hard to understand words. The secret is to bring it in gradually (with the mix control) so it sounds natural and exciting without being too distracting.
💡 Tip – Removing lower, unnecessary frequencies from a sound helps you avoid distortion and get better clarity
Congratulations, you’re done! That’s how to sound like a music star!
DID YOU KNOW…
In humans, harmonics come from the vocal folds. In every sound or voice, harmonics ultimately define the source of a sound. In other words, they help us answer the question: what sound is that? Is it a hen, a trumpet, a violin, or my neighbor’s voice?
Then there is air inside the vocal tract that vibrates at different pitches depending on its size and shape of opening. We call these pitches ‘formants’.
You can change (or modulate, we should say) the formants in the sound by changing the size and shape of the vocal tract. This happens instinctively. You don’t really have to think about it. It’s a little bit like breathing.
Now here is where the fun happens. In the digital domain, we can artificially alter these components to create brand new sounds, not possible in real life!
Voice tuners exploit these principles to correct the pitch of your voice. Nifty huh?
